PPR’s Race & Regulation Series: Jessica Trounstine
This event is part of the Penn Program on Regulation’s Race & Regulation series. Jessica Trounstine of the University of California, Merced, will be the speaker.

Jessica Trounstine, the Foundation Board of Trustees Presidential Chair and Professor of Political Science at the University of California, Merced, will deliver a lecture titled “Redlined Forever: The Racist Past of Today’s Land Use Regulations.”

Professor Trounstine studies American politics and political representation, with a focus on how political institutions generate inequalities. Her award-winning book, Segregation by Design: Local Politics and Inequality in American Cities (Cambridge University Press), draws on more than 100 years of quantitative and qualitative data to explore how local government policies have led to race and class segregation.
